Your WhatsApp,
run by the
whole team.

Front Desk connects your number to WhatsApp's official business platform, the one Meta built for businesses with more than one person on the chats. Customers message you exactly as before. Behind it, Watson and your team share every conversation.

Included in both plans, from RM 299 a month per location

Which number

Three ways to connect. Two questions to pick one.

Whichever you choose, you connect it yourself by signing in with Meta from Front Desk. Here's how to decide.

Question

Do customers already message a WhatsApp number of yours?

No

Use a new number

Connect a number that isn't on WhatsApp yet, like a new SIM. Your current phone stays exactly as it is.

Yes

Question

Do you want to keep using the WhatsApp Business app on it?

Yes

Keep the app, where Meta allows it

For some numbers, Meta lets the WhatsApp Business app and a business platform share the same number.

Not every number can. It's Meta's call, so if yours can't, use a new number or move it over.

No

Move the number over

The number moves fully to the business platform. Customers keep the same number.

It stops working in the WhatsApp app on that phone. Its chats move to Front Desk.

Setting it up

Five screens in Meta's sign-in window.

You start it from Front Desk and Meta's own window walks you through. It takes a few minutes; only the name check can take longer.

  1. 1Sign in with Meta

The Facebook login of whoever looks after the business on Meta.

  2. 2Pick your business

The Meta business it belongs to. If there isn't one, you make it here.

  3. 3Choose a number

The number from the questions above. Customers will see it.

  4. 4Verify it

Meta sends a code to that number by text or call. Type it in.

  5. 5Display name

Meta checks the name customers see. That can take up to 2 days.

Mock-ups for illustration. Meta's own screens look a little different and change from time to time.

What changes

The app on one phone, or the platform on Front Desk.

The platform is built for teams, with a few rules of its own. Here's the honest comparison.

Who can replyWhatsApp Business app: The phone, and the few devices linked to it.Front Desk: Everyone on your team, each signed in, plus Watson.
After closing timeWhatsApp Business app: Whoever's still awake.Front Desk: Watson answers, in the customer's language.
Who said whatWhatsApp Business app: One shared account.Front Desk: Every reply and note shows who wrote it.
Reminders and offersWhatsApp Business app: Typed and sent by hand.Front Desk: Sent on their own, at the times you set.
Starting a conversationWhatsApp Business app: Message anyone, any time.Front Desk: After 24 hours without a message from them, you start with a template Meta has approved.
What it costs to sendWhatsApp Business app: Nothing.Front Desk: Meta charges for template messages, like reminders and offers. Replying within 24 hours of their message costs nothing extra.

Watson Front Desk

WhatsApp

Do my customers need to do anything?
No. They message the same number, the same way they always have.
Can I still use WhatsApp on my phone?
With a new number, yes: your current WhatsApp stays as it is. Keeping the WhatsApp Business app on a connected number is up to Meta and isn't offered for every number. If you move your number over, it stops working in the WhatsApp app on that phone, and you reply from Front Desk, which works in your phone's browser.
Do I need a Meta business account?
If you don't have one, you create it in the sign-in window as you go.
What about the green tick?
That's Meta's own badge, applied for separately. Front Desk works the same with or without it.
